Hello! My name is Alexia Laughlin. My husband, Dale, and I are writing this for anyone who is considering purchasing a German shepherd from Silver Mountain Shepherds.
First of all, we can’t thank Paul and Anne enough for all they have done for us. We purchased our Titan from them and he is an absolute joy.
A friend of ours recommended Silver Mountain Shepherds when he heard we were looking for a German shepherd puppy. We found their website and we were impressed by their years of experience breeding these beauties, as well as rescuing and adopting out abused or abandoned German shepherds. It was obvious to us that they love these dogs. We headed straight to Glens Ferry, Idaho, to meet Paul and Anne. They welcomed us to their home like we were family.
When we got out of the car, we were greeted by two pure-white puppies and a shy, black and silver male. After we played with the three pups, Paul and Anne showed us around and introduced us to all their puppies and parents. They were informative and answered all the questions we asked.
The entire time we were there, the silver and black puppy never left my husband’s side. Originally, Dale was set on a pure black puppy, but the black and silver puppy had stolen his heart.
When we got home we discussed purchasing the dog and called our vet. She gave us a long list of questions to ask Paul. When we called her back with Paul’s answers, our vet was impressed and said that Paul definitely knew his stuff. I called Anne and told her I wanted to buy the black and silver male for Dale’s birthday. We brought Titan home on June 24, 2010.
Paul gave us good advice on dog training, and explained the basics of being new parents. But we can’t believe how incredibly smart Titan is! He was leash-trained within the first week and now heels without a leash. Potty training was a cinch – Titan has not had a single accident and sits by the door when he wants outside. He mastered “sit”, “stay”, and “come” in no time. And within a month, he learned his “boundary” lines while fetching. Titan listens well, senses changes and adjusts very quickly. He is wonderful with kids and gets along with even the most difficult of dogs.
We highly recommend Paul and Anne to anyone interested in German shepherds. They are knowledgeable, caring, and simply put, they are just good people.
Good luck finding the puppy of your dreams!
